Why doesn't auto format correct fractions properly

In Word 2003 auto correct only corrects the fractions to be in fraction
format for the fractions it wants. It will correct 1/2" and 1/4" but not 3/8"
or 3/16". This is the goofiest thing I've ever seen. Do I have to hand format
all my corrections after auto format corrects only a few?

Thanks for the link! I would think Microsoft would use a version of
superscript for fractions instead of relying on fonts for fractions. I can't
see why this should be such a problem. Oh well I'll past it on to the "Gates"
administration as a suggestion!
