Why doesn't Frontapage help designing an file upload with progress

Why doesn't Frontpage offer or help design a file upload form with progress
bar. Why is it that if we want this, we have to find other programs to do
this. Will Frontpage or microsoft offer this on any upgrades or do we look
for other software packages that will offer this.

Because a progress bar is a system function and you can't trigger a system function from a
web page.

Don't confuse a "download" progress bar, with what you want to do. They are entirely
different.

A lot of servers do not allow the "Up-loading" of files to their servers for
the obvious reasons (like virus)
I can't blame them...
What if they upload a 1500MB video to your site and then you are charged for
using too much web space?
All in all this is not a good thing to do unless in a controlled
environment.......(Intranet)

That is off on a tangent from the OPs query.

I do agree with you on the risks though, and that is why
access is restricted by having the upload page in a secure
directory and further more by NTFS permissions.

Back on the original topic...

Upload progress bars (I think) are totally not needed.
Yes, I did vote...
