Why doesn't "paste special" always show all the options?

I did ctrl+C on slide "A" of a presentation (normal view or slide sorter
view), then I opened a new presentation and did paste special. Sometimes
"paste special" gave me all the options like Slide, PNG, Enhanced Meta file,
JPEG ....... Sometimes, it gave me only one option - Slide.

Why did this happen? What did I miss? Only one slide was involved when I
experienced this problem. It is not like I have more options for one slide
and less for the other slides.

Appreciate advice.
