Why doesn't Visio-03 allow large size printing?

I have a large drawing (161w x 24h) that I have been trying to print to HP
DJ800ps plotter. I have printed this before with Visio 2002 with no problems
but, every time I try to print with Visio 2003, it compresses the file
vertically but horizontally is correct. Can anyone help me with this?

There is a known bug in Visio 2003 that prevents printing to very long page
sizes.

I don't know for sure. Somewhere around 50+ inches.

Is there a plan to fix this bug anytime soon and is there a work around for it?
