Why has Outlook started to send multiple emails?

I work from home and use outlook to send and receive emails. Since
installing Office 2003, Outlook has never always worked smoothly. I
occasionally have sending problems, but more recently without me knowing
Outlook has started sending the same email 15 times. The recipient
apparantly receives one email every minute and then it suddently stops. Do
you think I have a corrupt Office CD or are there some strange settings
within outlook that I need to change.

Do you have any anti-virus/anti-spam/firewall software scanning your
outgoing mail? If so, turn off that scan. There's mounting evidence that
this problem is caused by this sort of software. Could you post back with
your results?

Thank you for your response, unfortunately I have already got outgoing email
scanning switched off. I use Norton Anti Virus and Norton Internet Security.
Even though I have the outgoing scanning switched off I do notice that
occasionally it still looks like that outgoing emails are being scanned. Any
ideas?

Yes - from what I've seen in posts to this list, you need to uninstall
Norton, then reinstall it *without* the email scanning options in order to
really turn it off.
