Why I cannot open the excel file directly?

[I cannot open the excel file directly]

it means:
there is a excel file named 'test.xls',when clicked,I only can see the EXCEL
application program and cannot see the file opened,I must reopen the file in
the application program.
please tell me the answer,thanks!

In Excel, select Tools|Options, click on General, untick ignore other
applications
