Hello !
I use Windows XP Pro (International Edition English), updated to SP2, and
Office XP.
My default input language is English, and I also use when needed Chinese PRC
and Japanese. All this has been working well for several years.
Last week I had to do a "repair" reinstallation of Windows XP, which I did
using my CD (box version, properly registered etc etc). After that a number
of malfunctionings have appeared, among them the one for which I am
consulting you : when I select "Chinese" in the language bar, the little
square "CH" is no longer followed by a button which displays alternately the
"zhong" or "yin" sinograms, for selecting the input mode. I just have a
miniature keyboard icon, and if I clik on it it gives access to a context
menu from which I can choose "Chinese simplified Pin Yin IME 3.0", but
unfortunately the typing shows me that I cannot convert the roman letters
into sinograms at the touch of the space bar.
I am miffed ! What is going on ?
The funny part is that the Japanese input procedure has suffered no damage
and choosing "JP" in the language bar still gives me all the functionalities
I used to enjoy.
Thank you so much for your suggestions !
