Why is IE trying to open snapshot reports w/Access engine

Strange item with snapshot reports I've found when pointing to a snapshot
file on an internal web server, Access 2003 gets associated with the snapshot
file on open...in other word it looks like Access 2003 (instead of the
snapshot viewer) tries to load the snapshot as a database...This does not
happen on snapshots files saved on my local machine or a network drive.
Also, when I right click and do a "Save As" IE sticks the mdb extension on
the snapshot...What is the deal with that? Anybody else seen this? (I've
reinstalled Access 2003, reinstalled the snapshot viewer, and updated Office
2003 suite with that huge service pack.)
