why is my incoming e-mail formatted as an HTML attachment?

When I used Outlook Express my e-mail came in normally but now that I changed
over to MS Outlook, most of my email comes in as attachments. Sometimes they
are HTML and sometimes .TXT and various other ways. I would just like the
message to show up in the body of the email. Thanks
