why is my simple text file so large (22 kb)

i am working on a spreadsheet file, mostly text and no formulas. for some
reason the file size is 22 kb. i'd appreciate any suggestions on why or how
i can make it smaller?

I just created a new workbook with 3 worksheets and nothing else and it's
13.5 KB. I don't think it's possible.
