Why is Outlook doing this?

Hi all--

Outllok is driving me nuts right, asking me to "Enter
network password" every 10 seconds, and I'm not getting
any incoming e-mail.

The "Enter password" box that appears has the e-mail
server entered, but I never had it ask me that before,
plus I'm not on a network.

I entered "network password" and "password" into the help
section, but there's nothing.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

It wants your logon info (password) for the server you get your mail from.
If you do not know your info (ID & password) contact the admin for YOUR mail
server (ISP I assume).

Hi--

I'll check that solution out. Thanks.

I went onto the web, too, and found some solutions, one
permanent and one temporary work-around:
the permanent fix is a Registry edit, which I'm hesitant
to undertake; the temporary solution is to either disable
scheduled send/receive and click on send/receive
manually, or to set the scheduled send/receive to an
interval greater than 10 minutes.
As is often the case with software, that solution seems
to have no bearing on the problem, sort of like when you
twist soemone's hand and lemonade squirts out his nose!
But it worked.

Thanks again,

-Peter

Sorry-- I didn't mention (I was so annoyed) that even
after I entered that info, it acted as if I hadn't, and
kept poppong that box up and the e-mail was disabled.
See the next message for a solution I found on the web,
and for another posted by a Microsoft MVP.
