Why is Outlook running slow? Just moved from OExpress.

Yesterday, I updated a co-worker's machine to Office 2003, and moved her from
Outlook Express to Outlook. I imported her (very many) stored messages and
address book from OExpress (address book into contacts folder). The only
snag we experienced was the "can't contact LDAP directory server (81)" error
message, which we resolved per article 836205.

Now, certain Outlook functions are taking far longer than usual. For
example, if she clicks on the "New Mail Message" icon, there's a delay of
15-30 seconds before the new message window opens. There's a similar delay
for forwarding an old message. Actual send and receive functions appear to
be running normally.

Any idea what might be causing this, or how I can speed up Outlook on her
machine? Is there a guide to optimizing Outlook operations? (I couldn't
find one.)

Many thanks.
