Why is "save as" command causing Office to crash?

When I use the "save as" command to save an existing file or ctrl>s to try to
save a newly-created file, Word crashes. It's also happening in Excel, so I
suspect it's affecting all of Office. I'm using Office 2003, and i've
downloaded the latest service pack.
