Why is the reaction of HoverSelection to the mouse hover so slow in a ListView control?

Being interest in the HoverSelection function of
ListView control,I tried to study using ListView control
instead of ListBox.
No sooner had I tried it than I found a problem.
the reaction time of HoverSelection to the mouse hover is
so slow that me decide to give it away.
Is there a way to sove this?
