why is there no sound on the MS tutorials?

Where are you getting the tutorials from? Also, put your questions in the text area of the message and not just in the subject line. Makes it very hard to figure out what your looking for.

Hi, Michael.

Thanks for replying.

I am in a public computer center, brushing up on MS skills by going through
the tutorials. Usually, a narrator speaks so that I can try out what she says
at the same time. For some reason, the narration is not present. So I have to
read the tutorial, which precludes my practicing simultaneously.

The narration is usally audible. The mute is not on. The sound levels are
up. Is there a default for on public computers?

You would have to talk with the folks who look after the public computers. They are the people who should be able to help you with this one.
