Why is there no way to update timephased costs for a cost resource

Why is there no way to update timephased costs for a cost resource in the
PSI? You can update the timephased work for a work resource, but not the
costs for a cost resource? That seems very inconsistent. Am I just missing
something --is there actually a way to do this?
