Why no "Save as PDF or XPS" in Outlook 2007?

I just installed the "Save as PDF or XPS" plugin for Office 2007, and it
seems to work nicely. I was wondering why it's not an option for saving
messages in Outlook though.

That won't be in the final release so I wouldn't make too much of the
problem.

Thanks for the quick response. I realized that it's not going to be in the
final release. I was really just wondering why, and suggesting it be added to
Outlook in a future release.

There are several .pdf creating software programs that are a free download.
They will not only create .pdf files in Outlook but *any* program on your
computer that has a Print function.

Please note my reply in this thread: It will not be included as a
standard function in Office but the download WILL be available.

I actually see 2 "Save as PDF" downloads available for Office 2007 --

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3C-6D89-4F15-991B-63B07BA5F2E5&displaylang=en

and

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...11-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en

Unfortunately, *neither* of them seems to be designed to work with Outlook
2007. I don't know why, but I doubt that will change. Bummer.

I checked Outlook in Beta 2 where the PDF/XPS functionality is still
included in the product, and I didn't see any way to save a PDF or XPS
from Outlook. It almost looks like that Outlook didn't get PDF/XPS
support in 2007 at all.

I didn't see it either and I do realize Alvin's suggestion was to
extend PDF functionality to Outlook.

My reply was addressing the misinformation he was initially provided
and was not specific to Outlook. :)

Hi Beth,

Hmmm. Three PDF/XPS downloads for Office 2007 Beta 2 and B2TR are already available through http://microsoft.com/downloads under the
Office category. It was the download he was referring to in his original posting it appears. I'm not clear on which part of the
thread you're referring to re misinformation??
