Why not enough memory?

I am using Word 2003 (11.8106.8107) with CAT software SDL Trados 7.1.0.719.

While working with larger documents (2MB+ in this case) every now and then I
get the message that there is not enough memory to undo the next operation.
Still, System Information reports 400MB+ of available physical memory.

Why does this happen? Is there a workaround?

You need to clear the undo buffer (which is only able to buffer 100 steps).

I don't think there's a specific limit on the Undo buffer, but it does
depend on available memory and HD space.
