Why only a client-only rule?

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a rule in Outlook to delete any email that arrives that
isn't from a specific address (this isn't an anti-spam measure). When I try
to setup the rule it will only allow a client-only rule. I want this to be a
server side rule as this will be an unattanded mailbox. Why won't it let me
do it?

Apply this rule after the message arrives
perminantly delete it
except if from [email protected]
stop processing more rules

Thanks.

My guess is that you populated the "except if from..." field with a
client needed source. Does this sound possible? If so, re-create the
rule and simply type the SMTP into the field.

Hi,

I can't see why it would need the client, its just an SMTP address. I've
even tried changing the rule to "except with [email protected] in
the sender's address", but to no avail.

I'm a bit stumped?

Thanks.

I am afraid I am a bit stumped too. Are you sure this is all there is to
the rule?

I have included the link above to an excellent write-up on what to
look for that may be going astray with your rule.
