Why Outlook 2007 open with multiply windows?

I am using Vista. Whenever I open Outlook 2007 is opens with multiple windows
instead of the default single window. How do I get the default setting back?

Perhaps you have the Reading Pane turned on which may account for your
"multiple window " configuration. If so, select View on the Menu bar, trace
to Reading Pane and select Off.

I have two windows open up when I click on outlook.

close one using the X. Wait a bit then close the other. Look in task
manager, processes tab and verify Outlook.exe is not listed. Then restart
outlook.
