Why report in .snp format is not viewable

When I export the report from Access, usually I would like to choose the snap
shot (.snp) format so that the report would remain the most of reporting
features (such as line shading, lines around the report title, etc.) and it
would be most closely to what I see within Access. However, when I sent out
the .snp file to other people, they have a problem of viewing the report with
this format. It keep coming up with "unknow file format" or simply just
unreadable charators if it happens to be opened. And I have to switch to
export to rich text (.rtf) format, but this format did not maintain my report
features.

Can anyone let me know why some people cannot view .snp format? What to do
if they cannot? Which format is most used format for exporting and at the
same time remain the report feature?

Thanks for your time!

Well, those who are getting "unknown file type" don't have the Snapshot
Viewer program installed. Every file type needs a program capable of
reading it and the SNP type is no different.

The Snapshot Viewer is a free download on Microsoft's web site. I usually
include a link to it in any Email I send that has an SNP file attachment.
