Why rows get larger when move a column?

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

Sometimes I move a column and then ALL THE rows in a workbook become very large and equal in size. Happens all time. why? thanks.

Hi Ken:

You "move" a column, or "change the width of a column"? Which?

If your rows are set to Autofit, and one or more cells within the rows are
set to "Wrap Text", and you vary the column width, the depth of the rows
will change to accommodate the content of the changed column.
