Why will my page numbers not print?

Possibly because they are too far down on your page. Page numbers should be
inserted in the footer (or header) using the AutoText toolbar rather than
using Insert => Page Number.

See the page on "bottoms don't print" on the MVP FAQ site.

If your problem is the wrong page number printing, there is a bug in Word
that is different in different versions (including different SRs).
See <URL: http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/PageXofY.htm> for
information on Page X of Y problems. You may also want to take a look at:
<URL: http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumbering.htm>. If it
applies
you may also want to look at <URL: See
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumber0.htm>.

HELP!
.
Your problem could be printer related. Some printers
(especially ink jet) come with an advanced setting that
allows you to MAXIMISE the print area, thus extending the
page size. If this is not selected, your footer area may
be too low for the printer to cope. Use START, PRINTERS
& FAXES and then double click your printer icon. Click
on PRINTER, PROPERTIES and experiment with options to see
if this solves your problem. Failing that, try moving
your footer up a bit (via page setup).
