Why won't it finish publishing?

I have finished "designing" my second web page using FrontPage and am having trouble. When I try to publish the thing to the web, it never finishes. The status box shows it to be continually uploading the final file (a picture) forever; I let it run for 6 hours this afternoon without it ever completing the job. The web page is only 7.7 MB, and I have room for 20 on my web host. I even deleted a file or two, thinking that the file itself may have had a problem, but it does the same thing regardless. I would appreciate someone's help, so much, but please do remember that I am far from expert at all this; keep its simple for me! Thanks!

Try opening the online site in FP (File Open Web/Site and enter your URL)
Next run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks, and close the online site
Then try publishing changed pages only from your local site in FP

Thanks so much for the help

I did what you said and had the hyperlinks recalculated. After that, there appeared a new file called, "thumbs.db." I have no idea what this was, except that it must be some sort of database, but I couldn't open it at all. I trashed that file, recalculated again to be safe, and tried to publish it again. The same thing happened ... The last file was never completed, according to the progress box; it looked as if it just kept downloading. I again let this go on for several hours. Also, let me clarify that NONE of the pages have actually been published. The web site is in no form or fashion at my actual web address, though the process looks like it's working okay based on the clues and progress box from FrontPage. I always have to hit "cancel" before it's totally done because of the hold up with the last file

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again!

I've had the same problem from time to time. Couldn't figure out why, but I
"fixed" the problem by selecting the offending file and publishing it
separately, before publishing the entire website. Subsequent publishing
worked fine.
