Why won't it show a presentation in full screen

Why won't powerpoint show a presentation in full screen.
When I press the icon for it to go to the slide show, it
opens another window but won't start the slide show. Any

is your preset animation turned on? go to slideshow,
preset animation and make sure "off" isn't checked. Then
you have to have something set to get the first slide
going, you do that through slide show - custom animation.

Do you mean the icon on the lower left-hand corner? And when you press
that, PPT opens another window? Is the other window in Edit View, or is
it slide show view?

If it's opening another window in Edit (Normal) View, try running a
detect and repair.

If it's opening in slide show view, but it's just not moving along as it
should, check your animation and transition settings -- as someone else
already suggested, I believe.

Also go to Slide Show/Set up Show. What options have you selected there?
