? why won't jpeg's show in Print layout I get only empty box

When I copy a jpeg into Word Print layout or Web layout I see only a blank
box yet in Read layout the actual picture shows. What am I doing wrong?
I use to be able to copy jpegs into word before I realised I had different
layouts.
I am using Word 2003.

Hi, Vision. Perhaps you're just seeing things? In Word, click on Tools |
Options | View tab | check the "Drawings" box and uncheck the "Picture
placeholders" box | Print tab | check the "Drawing objects" box | OK.
