why won't ms office accept product key

ms office professional 7 won't accept my product key - I have typed the
number in multiple times; each time program says my product key is incorrect;
my new laptop has microsoft works and trial version of microsoft office
student edition? Please help.

Uninstall the Trial edition, reboot, and then try it again. Be sure that you are not mistaking the B for an 8, the most common mistake.
