Why won't my picture in Word nudge?

Thamsen

I've inserted our logo into a word doc and I need it centered properly but
can't get it to nudge. Does anyone know how to do this? I've noticed the
border of some pictures when you select them are white dots whereas this one
is small black squares connected by lines. I can't find a filetype of my logo
that pastes with those white dots. Is this part of the problem?

In short, how do I nudge my picture file?

Thank you so much!

The black squares indicate that the picture is In Line With Text. That being
the case, you can center as you would any other text, with Ctrl+E. In order
to move it freely, however, you must change the wrapping to some other
style. When you click on the image, you'll get the Picture toolbar. The
button with the dog icon opens the Text Wrapping menu. Choose anything other
than In Line With Text, and your picture will have round white sizing
handles, indicating that it is in the drawing layer.

That did it! I knew my description of the selection handles would help. Thank
you SO much!

Your description of the selection handles was further confirmation but not
really necessary; I was thinking you'd already received the answer in
another newsgroup (did you post elsewhere) that you can't nudge inline
objects.
