Why won't my screen resolution go above 8 bit in Outlook?

I set my screen resolution for 32 bit in Windows, but every every time I use
Outlook it reverts to 8 bit. I cannot get it to change to 32 bit. When I
exit Outlook, the screen blinks and goes back to 32 bit.
