Why wont my text in a textbox show up?

I am trying to add text to a text box, but nothing shows up. Can anybody
help me with this?

Select the text box. Change the font color to something other
than white.

I tried to change the font color and size. I changed the internal margins
to 0 all around. I even tried to copy and paste from a different document.
Weird, huh??

There must be something in the document format preventing the text from
showing up in the box, but I have no idea what.

Another thing to try:
Format, Text, and check that it isn't marked "Hidden"

Does the Text box have extreme paragraph indents?
So the text is there but just outside the box.
Also, have you deleted the text box and created a fresh one, or copied one
that does show the text after pasting?
