Why Word starts up in banner only view

H

Hans

When I click on Word for a new document, it shows only the top banner of the
document, and if I want to see the whole document I need to click on the full
size icon (top right corner).

Why has this suddenly happened and what to do about it (I want it to open up
so that I can see the whole document) ?

Ps. I run on Vista + Word 2007

Grateful for help !

From your description, Word is opening in a Normal window that has been
resized to the shape you describe. You can resize this window by dragging
the edges, but if you want Word to start maximized, you need to modify the
shortcut used to start Word.

This may be a little different on Vista, and keep in mind that the default
shortcuts that Microsoft creates sometimes can't be modified, so you may
have to create a new shortcut in order to modify it, but the general
procedure is as follows:

1. Right-click on the shortcut and choose Properties.

2. On the Shortcut tab, choose "Maximized" for "Run."

3. Click OK.
