Why would my conversation get ignored?

Am I posting/reply posting correctly?

If so--I'm new to the news group--sorry

What makes you think it's being ignored? Your last reply was not very long
ago....give us a chance here!

I don't know why they are getting ignored. The most common reasons would be
1) nobody knows the answer, 2) you posted to the wrong newsgroup, 3) you
post is incomprehensible, 4) you didn't give enough info, or 5) you were
rude and obnoxious (there are probably more). Make sure you clearly state
what you want to do and what is happening when you try to do it. Include
your Version, Mode, SP or SR level, OS, hardware if the questions is
hardware related. In other words give us enough to tell what the problem
is, and remember that most of the people in here aren't getting paid to do
this so you may not get an answer in 5 minutes.

What was your original question, I'll take a whack at it?

Sorry...there was an Icon beside my post that was a red circle with a line
through it (index said that means that post is ignored). I thought I had
done something wrong.

I know there are a lot of posts and I know it takes time. I was not being
inpatient.

Thanks and sorry

The ignored sign is local to your newsreader and means you marked it as
ignored (probably accidentally). It doesn't affect how the rest of us see
your posts.

That icon states you want to ignore the post yourself. We're not ignoring
anything!
It is a way for outlook to provide you with three categories of posts: posts
you want to watch, just regular posts, and posts you want to ignore. You can
set or change the status yourself by clicking on that icon. Just try ans see
how things work out.

that means that YOU have "ignored" the post in your news reader! That
means that your newsreader ignores the thread and doesn't download
messages in it! Uncheck the "ignore post" symbol and you'll see the
replies!
