Why would "save as" suddenly run very slowly?

In the last couple of days, the Save As function is taking minutes to work.
Any ideas why would be appreciated.

Is the same slowness observed in File, Open? If so, r-click on My
Computer and select Disconnect and pick and drives that are unavailable
to you.
