Widescreen weirdness

D

David Tinker

I volunteer at the local aquarium, where we feed a PP slideshow into
the gallery with the latest news. We recently got a plasma widescreen,
and the 4:3 slides were being stretched to fit. I redid a new set at
16:9 (13.3" x 7.5"), but they are being stretched horizontally, with
black bars above and below.

I suspect that there are monnitor resolution settings that need to be
tweeked, but the display is being fed from a PC, and that's not my area
of xpertise and I can't log into the PC chat for some reason.

Any thoughts?

In addition to the suggestions in the link David gave you, I'd also check the
video setup on the PC. Rightclick the windows desktop screen and choose
Properties from the popup menu. On the Settings tab, check Screen Resolution.

I'm guessing that it's set to something that's not proportional to the 16x9
screen, which might cause it to distort as well. See if you have a resolution
setting that's proportional and try that.

If no such setting is available, see if the video subsystem manufacturer has
updated drivers that supply other resolutions.
