Wierd Symbol showing up in all my word files

I have a wierd symbol I think it's a pie symbol. It just started showing up in all my old and new word docs.
Old word docs have the pie symbol at the end of every sentence. The new docs have the pie symbol after the cursor and at the end of anything I type. What did I do? Can it be fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You turned on Paragraph Marks. Either click on the ShowAll button (the
reversed P) or go to Tools, Options, View tab and clear the check box.

it's "pi," not "pie"; in any case, what you're seeing is a pilcrow, not pi).

You sure you haven't selected Wing Dings or Monotype Sorts as your font?
