Wildcards in queries

In the Tables Field i have names for people, like for example Ricky SAMRAS,
David SOMMERS, Simon BRINDLE, etc.

Now in the query criteria if you type in like *E* You would get David
SOMMERS and Simon Brindle.

Now i want people to type in any letter in a perimeter and it will search
for that letter in any names and bring them up.

[type in letter of word] then it will search for any words that match this
letter

How do i do this? Please help.
