Will Access do what I want?

I have a very old DOS programme which is not compatible with Vista, so
looking at Access to see if it will do the same.
It is an order/invoice generating programme. I enter the customers' detail
on a database, from which I can generate an order and advice note on the
factory. When despatched, I can then create the invoice, totalling several
items, calculate the carriage and VAT automatically. It will also create a
stock check list.
Can anyone help?

Hi

Export your DOS files as comma dilimated and (then) import them in to
access. This will work for all versions of access includeing 2K7 vista as
far as I know.

Access is quite capable of doing this... in the same sense as Excel is quite
capable of creating an accounting application. You won't have the application
that you want sitting there ready when you open Access; but you can (with some
effort) create one to duplicate all these features.

Access doesn't have a steep learning curve.

it's marketed for beginners and newbies.

you should focus on SQL Server and learning ONE DIALECT instead of an
obsolete desktop piece of crap
