Will business contact manager work if my mailbox is on an exchang.

I am running Outlook 2003 on my local machine but my mailbox and associated
outlook data is on our Exchange server which is older than 2003. I have
installed contact manager but it does not show up in my outlook anywhere.

Dave: if you have an exchange server at work and your outlook client uses
that, Business Manager (even if you have installed it) will not show up. I
had a similar problem that I couldn't figure out...

Work around is to create a new profile without an exchange based email
account. Not sure if that will work for you or not. If you are dependent on
exchange for your server, I think you are out of luck using BM... It seems
BM only works if you don't have exchange as your server (ie only individuals
or small offices that don't use exchange...)

Microsoft officially does not support using BCM with an Outlook profile that
includes an Exchange account, unless that account is on a Small Business
Server 2003 machine and you have installed the corresponding patch for BCM
from http://support.microsoft.com/?id=831747. If you add a BCM database to a
profile that includes Exchange from any other environment, the next time you
start Outlook, BCM will remove the database from the profile. However, as
described at http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/bcm.htm, it is possible to
install the patch and then hack the registry to make BCM work with a profile
that contains Exchange even if it isn't SBS 2003.
