Will MS Office 2003 work with Vista?

I just purchased a new laptop preloaded with Vista. I did not purchase MS
Office 2007 right away because it is too expensive. Can I use my version of
Office 2003 with Vista?

Only if it is a retail version or Teacher's and Students version or
"GENERIC OEM" Branded OEM (DELL, HP etc) will not work and it is not
transferable!

Hope this helps.

I believe there is some confusion, even at MS, about the "transferability" of
MS Office 2003 or 2007. My (purchased Professional version) Office 2003
activated just fine with Vista, but the Genuine Advantage would not activate
so I can not get to the add on Office downloads. I called the Genuine
Advantage help line and was told that MS Office is NOT portable, no matter
what the version. I asked the question here and was told that was wrong, but
who is it that is going to fix the problem for you? I think MS's licensing
system is screwed up right now with all of the different versions out there
and with the recent addition of Office 2007 it has broken. MS will get it
fixed eventually, but your best bet is to try the install and see what
happens. Office 2003, from my experience, will install and activate, and
will D/L the security updates through Vista, so you will be able to use it
safely.
