Hi S.J.,

Office 2003 will be supported on Windows Vista. The version of Windows won't change the file structure of Office 2003 documents
that you create.

I tried to install Office 2003 on Vista Home Premium. I get the error message
stating that the program requires elevation, then another that the
bootstrapper setup.exe has stopped working. Emailed to MS support, but no
soluton yet.

SP3 was installed before I transfered my word, excel, visio, etc. I would
even pay for a service if I could.

"SP3 was installed before you transfered"? That's not how its done. You
have to INSTALL the applications, you can't "transfer" them. Then you
would apply the SP3 to the Office installation.

Hi Bob,
SP3 was installed after the apps were installed but, before the files were
transfered
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I did what you suggested initially but to no avail. I'm
thinking MS wants us to purchase their 2007 O P, it probably has a file
convert/upgrade built in.

Probably not what you want to do but...

Yes, since you "tagged" onto a previous thread and provided no detail as
to how you got to this point or the specifics of problem, I would
suggest that you start your own thread. Please state the specifics, what
the actual problem is, what you have done so far, and any error messages
received. That way the folks who try to help, won't be reading symptoms
of someone else's problem as yours.

Well Bob, sorry I "tagged" onto your thread and thanks for ALL your help. If
you would read a little more down the line, I did provide much detail.
I will take your suggestion and start my own thread and please do not bother
to assist with my problem, I'm sure someone out their will have a solution
and be more helpful.

Hi JoAnn,
"transferred" meaning copied files from XP to Vista machine. When I tried to
open a Word or Excel file a display showed "Microsoft Excel (Not Responding)
, same for Word.
If I purchased the 2007 version, would the files convert to the new format?
thanks, Fred

Sorry, but this isn't MY thread, the whole idea is to get YOUR problem
the correct attention, with ONLY the information relating to YOUR
problem, not "sj's" issues or LP's issues. I'm also sorry about your
attitude, and hope you get appropriate assistance for that also.

Hi JoAnn,
"transferred" meaning copied files from XP to Vista computer via CD.
Upon selecting a Word or Excel file (2003) I get a display back showing
"Microsoft Word (Not Responding). Are there programs available to convert my
files from MS Prof 2003 to MS Prof 2007 OR do I simply need a patch?
thanks,
Fred
