Will Office 2007 full install interfere with installed Office XP?

S

Steve Conover

I have Office XP installed and running; cannot afford to uninstall it
or have it overwritten. Today I purchased the full version of Office
2007 (Home and Student), but before I install it, I need to know if
2007 will overwrite or disable Office XP; if so, I will take 2007 back
for a refund.

Anyone aware of what will happen to Office XP when I install Office
2007?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

It will state that you have to remove it. We had office 2003
installed and the 2007 install removed it before it continued on with
the install. If you re-install the office xp, then neither will work
until they are both removed and one is re-installed again. That is
what I saw with 2003.

Can you detail how installed both office 2007 and office xp so that they
BOTH work. Which did you install first? Did you take any special steps
to make it function?

Also, which is the default program and how did you set that up?

Thanks in advance for your help
