will Office 2008 work for me?

My husband uses Office 2007 on his PC, frequently I need to work with his documents which were created with Office 2003, and lately Office 2007
I am considering purchasing Office 2008 for Mac but am wondering if this is going to allow me to work with the documents created with his versions of Office

Office 2008 allows you to open documents created in 97-2003 and 2007 documents.

There is no reason why it shouldn't work, but be aware that macros won't
work on the Mac since we lost VBA support with Office 2008.
