will Office 97 work with Windows XP

Ijust bought a new Dell with Windows XP. I stillhave my Office 97 CD but am
not sure if it will work with XP. Does anybody know?

I have Office 97 Professional on my system with Windows XP - so think it
works. My problem is that I want to get it off my system & you cannot do it
without a disk.

Yes, Office 97 will work with Windows XP. If you have not yet installed
Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, then Office 97 should install without a
problem. If you already installed WinXP SP2, or if the computer came
with WinXP SP2, then you should plan on doing a custom installation of
Office 97 in which you set the Web Authoring Tools (HTML) to "not
available" in the setup options.
