will office open documents that are meant for PowerPoint?

I have a email that wants to be opened with Power Point. Will Microsoft
Office open the document? If not, do I need to purchase or just download
Power Point. It shows that I have Power Point, but I don't think it's ever
been used, so I'm not sure what I need to do to open the document. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you open PowerPoint and try to open the document? It works
like any other Office program for opening files.

PowerPoint is part of Office. Office is not a program - it's a collection of
various programs. What shows you that you have PowerPoint?

I found a list in Office showing PowerPoint as a part of a search I did in
help. Only thing I really want to do is open a email I have that is
requesting to be opened with PowerPoint.

Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office.
Is PowerPoint listed there?
If not, google "PowerPoint Viewer" and download it.

I'm not sure what that means. Just because something in Help says that
PowerPoint is part of Office doesn't necessarily mean you have an edition
that includes it.

Did you try double-clicking on the file and see what happens?

Try Start - Run - enter "powerpnt" (without the quotation marks) and hit
enter. Does PowerPoint open?
