John Jansen or anyone that would know the answer to the
question below:
I got this response but I got confused in the reply trail
if this trick will work with the Sharepoint Portal 2003
Default .ASPX page:
Trick that was posted:
There is some documentation, but it is not what you want.
The architecture of a Portal is such that FrontPage themes
do not work on them.
However, you CAN trick the portal into using a FrontPage
theme -- it's just a small amount of work.
IN FRONTPAGE:
1. Create your theme to look just as you want it to look
2. Create a sub site off your portal
3. Apply your theme to this subsite
4. From Tools > Options make sure Hidden folders are
showing
5. Refresh the site
6. open the _themes directory
7. open the themeName directory
8. open the file named themeName1101-109.css (the numbers
may be
different,
but make sure you get the one that has FOUR numbers next
to it, like
1111,
1011, 1101, etc.
9. save it to the root site as "theme.css"
IN YOUR PORTAL (browse in IE)
1. Click to Modify Site Settings (the path is not clear in
my memory
and I
don't have portal installed this afternoon)
2. On one of the Site Settings pages it asks for the
Stylesheet to be
used
for the Portal. Type in the path to the theme.css file
you saved above
That's it.

Thanks!
