Win 2000 and This patch package could not be opened

Hi
Like many people on this list, I am trying to reinstall OFFICE 2000 and I'm getting th
"This patch package could not be opened Verify that the patch package
exists and you can access it, or contact the application
vendor to verify that this that this is a valid Windows
Installer patch package"

I'm running Windows 200
My msi.dll is version:2.0.2600.118
...so I can't run the Windows CleanUp utilit

There has been explainations on solving this on other OSs but not Windows 2000
I would appreciate any help

I'm not aware of an issue running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility on a
Windows 2000 system, regardless of which version of the Installer they have.
If you make sure you get the version for "NT kernel" based operating systems
(NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP) named Msicuu.exe, you should be fine.
Follow the steps in Knowledge Base article 295823 OFF: Error Message: This
Patch Package Could Not Be Opened ...
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=295823) to download the correct version.
