Win 2k Help.

;

;-\)

I am not sure which group can help with this so I will cross post this to
see.

I have a VB6 project that uses Excel and Access and a custom 3rd party print
spooler from Loftware.

My development is on an XP Pro machine with Office XP. Excel data sources
are provided by the client and are in 97, 2k and XP format. I can require
that all Excel sheet be saved in 2k format if that will help.

Things worked fine when the client used a machine with Win2K and Office that
I set up and it had VB6 installed and I had administrator rights to the
local machine.

Now they want the app on their PC with Win2k under tight Corp. IT control
and the operator of the app will only have a "Limited" account.

I have changed by control of Excel and Access from early to late binding,
but am still having problems when logged on as the operator.

I guess I need help with the details of the rules when a "Limited" account
is running apps installed under "Administrator" accounts. I even got their
IT dept to give the operator account Administrator rights while I installed
the new version.

James,
Where is the app failing? Is it the app, or the access to the files?
Are the files on the operators PC or on a network? Can you post a
sample of the errors you are getting? If it's a file access problem, on
the network, I'd make sure that a particular group only have access to
the share on the file server. And the operator of the application should be
a member of that group.

Let me know if this helps
