Win.dat attachments

I am having a problem where every attachment I send is
received as a windat, meaning the other party is unable to
open even though they have the same program as I. Does
anyone know why?

You are most probably sending using Rich Text Format to a non-Outlook user.
Try changing your email format to plain text or HTML
