Win2K SP4 Causes Error #2486

We recently updated to SP4 (hey! we're a municipality, OK?) and now
older MS Access apps are having issues with searching. The search
works once or twice, then gets a RTE 2486 that bombs the app. I've
remmed out all code during the error to try and stop whatever is
running with no success. The only way I've been successful is to back
out SP4 and revert back to Jet 4.0, version 4.0.6218.0.

Due to security issues, we'd really like to keep the PCs up to date and
it looks like Windows XP (or whatever "lagging" edge OS we go to) is
pretty far off.

HALP!!!

Thanks!

I'd suggest asking in a newsgroup related to Windows 2000 (they all start
microsoft.public.win2000)

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.

Doug,

This problem is only manifesting itself in Access (so far) which is the
reason I posted it here. I had hoped that others may have experienced
something similar so that I could troubleshoot exactly what caused this
issue. I have a hunch it is something in the version of msjet40.dll
that was distributed with SP4, but I just can't pin it down.

Sorry: I was concentrating on the subject, and missed the references to
Access!

Afraid I haven't seen any other reports on this error.
