Does anyone know of a way to make the Details view the default view whenever
you open a window that contains files or documents? Thank you in advance for
your help!

Not all windows are controlled by or in the same way.
Are you referring to the File=>Open/Save dialog in
Office apps, if so what version? Generally those should
'stick' with the last used view.

I am running windows xp with office 03. I am talking when I am exploring in
windows and open different folders, it always uses the large icon view until
you change it to something else. I was wondering if there was a way that
when you open a folder that you can change the view to always open with the
Details View instead of the Large Icon. I know once you go to a window and
change the view, it will stay with that view setting, but it takes so long to
change all of my folders to the view I prefer. Thank you for your prior
reply!

From Windows Explorer you can use Tools=>Folder Options=>View
and the [Like current folder] button once you have
a folder setup the way you like. You may want to
uncheck the box that has it remember each folder's view
independently first.
